The final day witnessed a solemn and emotional military ceremony. Senior officers, led by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, GOC-in-C Western Command and Colonel of the Rajput Regiment, visited the Cariappa War Memorial and laid wreaths in honour of the fallen heroes. The atmosphere turned deeply poignant as officers saluted the supreme sacrifices made by generations of brave Rajput soldiers.

Strategic Deliberations and Leadership Transition

Throughout the conference, officers deliberated on key strategic and operational matters crucial to the regiment’s future. Following the wreath-laying ceremony, a Special Sainik Sammelan was organised, marking an important moment in the regiment’s leadership tradition.

In a formal ceremony, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar handed over the Baton to Lieutenant General Harjit Singh Sahi, Commandant of the Army War College, Mhow, completing the prestigious transfer of responsibility for the post of ‘Colonel of the Rajput Regiment’.
Lt Gen Sahi becomes the 19th Colonel of the Regiment, succeeding the 18th incumbent.

Pride in Valour, Discipline and Duty

Addressing the Sainik Sammelan, both the outgoing and newly appointed Colonels of the Regiment praised the soldiers for their unwavering courage, discipline, and commitment to excellence.

They emphasised that the Rajput Regiment’s greatest strength lies in its heritage of bravery and the soldier’s deep-rooted sense of duty. Every rank, they said, carries forward a legacy that has stood the test of time and continues to scale new heights.

The 33rd Biennial Conference ended on a resonant note of pride, reaffirming the Rajput Regiment’s unbroken tradition of valour — a tradition upheld by generations of dedicated soldiers.
